da betway: Aston Villa are flying this season. Despite a truly terrible start to the campaign, Unai Emery’s men find themselves in a Premier League title race, into the next round of the FA Cup and in a strong position in the Europa League.
da apostaganha: Moreover, the Spaniard has more than a few stars in his team playing out of their skin, with his most important player surely being the mercurial Morgan Rogers.
The Englishman has been like a force of nature at points this year, and the good news for Aston Villa fans is that the club could soon close on a transfer that may well be their best since Rogers.
Aston Villa target their best singing since Rogers
Given their positions in the competitions they are in, the fact that Villa have been busy this month is hardly a surprise.
Transfer Focus
Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.
However, the manner in which they’ve been active probably hasn’t made the fans all that happy.
For example, Donyell Malen has been sent to AS Roma on loan, despite being the club’s joint second-top scorer in all competitions, and midfield target Conor Gallagher has decided to join Tottenham Hotspur.
However, fans shouldn’t worry too much, as the ownership now appear intent on adding an exciting attacker to the team, who could be their best signing since Rogers.
At least that is according to a recent report from Turkey, which claims that Aston Villa are still very interested in Tammy Abraham.
In fact, it goes further than that, revealing that talks for the player are progressing between Villa and Besiktas for the striker and that the move is expected to take place within a matter of days.
Now, as the Englishman is on loan from AS Roma, and the Turkish side have an obligation to sign him, it’s unclear just how much he might cost.
However, with all parties seemingly keen to make this transfer happen, it’s unlikely to be prohibitively expensive for Aston Villa to land Abraham, who could be their best signing since Rogers.
Why Araham would be Villa's best signing since Rogers
Since Villa signed Rogers in February 2024, they have picked up several talented and useful players, such as Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen and Victor Lindelof.
However, it would also be fair to say that none of them have had close to the impact the former Middlesbrough gem has.
Now, Abraham is obviously not on the level of his compatriot, but should he join the Villans this month, there are a few reasons why he could have a huge impact on the side.
The first is the simple fact that he’s a striker with an enormous amount of experience in different leagues, and, most crucially, is in red-hot form.
For example, in 24 appearances, totalling 1726 minutes, he has scored 12 goals and provided three assists.

In other words, the 6 foot 4 forward is averaging a goal involvement every 1.6 games, or every 115.06 minutes, which lends credence to journalist Bolarinwa Olajide’s description of him being a “beast” in front of goal.

For comparison’s sake, nobody in Emery’s side has scored more than eight goals.
The second reason he could be a game-changer for the West Midlands outfit is that he already has been in the past.
In the 18/19 season, the former Chelsea gem scored 26 goals and provided three assists in 40 appearances for the side, playing a huge part in them winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Moreover, because fans already love him, his arrival would bring some positive energy to a club already going in the right direction, and he should settle in easier than most.
Ultimately, Villa should be doing all they can to bring Abraham back to the club as he could prove to be their best signing since Rogers and fire them to silverware.
